As this market
continues to harden, one of the biggest issues we face is receiving
complete underwriting information. The time associated with gathering
this information unfortunately means that we get to fewer quotations.
In an effort to assist you in obtaining the quotation you need in
the time required, we have developed a Submission
Checklist.
If this checklist
appears on the top of your submission, with all the required information,
it will receive priority. In addition, we will notify you that it
has been received and provide the name of the assisting underwriter.

Previously
we only asked for a radius breakdown between 0-100 and 100-300. Now
with one of our carriers developing a new program, we will need to
know if the radius falls with in the 0-50 mile area or in the 51-200
mile area. Your taking the time to provide
a more detailed breakdown allows us the best opportunity to give you
an effective quotation!
No submission with
over 15 power units is complete
until we have the Fiscal Year End Financial
Statement.
We
review the OOS Violations on the SafeStat Report? Out of
Service Violations, as they pertain to vehicles and drivers are very
important. Have you taken the time to review and discuss their SafeStat
scores. If you pull up the OOS Violations with the OOS Summary you
can quickly see what difficulties the account might be experiencing.
All underwriters are looking at this information. If the account has
scores in excess of 75 in any category, please take the time to review
and advise.
A
written overview of the account is extremely helpful. Especially
if, for example, you know that 2 years ago they doubled in size and
their loss ratio increased dramatically. If they working to regain
control then please explain the steps they are taking to achieve such
as well as their plans for future growth.
If there are Multiple
Named Insured's, we need to know their relationship to
one another as well as details on each of their operations.
Does
your account have a website? If so, have you taken
the time to review such? If the account has placed their hiring
guidelines on the site, do they comply with the minimum standards
most Insurance Carriers require? Please advise us of the web address.
